New Dragons.....

Well I have finally listed two new dragons....

Rusty of the Water Clan on Artfire

and

Jammi of the Gems Clan on Etsy
Nothing that special about either of these (except for being one of my Elemental Dragons) :)

I must say lately I really have not been into the crafting mood, actually that is a lie. I have been in the crafting mood in my head, but it seems the second I have a moment of free time (aka: the kids are asleep) all I want to do is sit down and veg......
I have many many ideas, just not the energy to follow thru...............any help out there would be wonderful :)
Take Care and next time I will promise to have something new (maybe that will help me get up and do something)!!

National Geographic.....

I know you are wondering what National Geographic has to do with claying...well....I have always wanted to do a kind of portrait out of clay (a scene of some kind). One of my friends sent this e-mail to me of National Geographic photos of the year, in them is one of (I will assume here) a lizards eyes and it is so breath taking for me I think it will be the photo that I will make into clay. I am telling all of you about this for then I will be accountable and feel bad if I don't ever do it (like so many of my ideas end up lost forever in my head)......

Here is the photo:
If you would like me to forward the e-mail to you, with all of the photos, just send me a note with your e-mail address :)
Take Care and Happy Crafting!!
And if it fits: HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!!

Not much to say......

Sorry to my followers here.....I really have not done much in the last week with clay :( Not that I didn't want to, but the kids were sick (strep) and even though I was not the sick one it sure does take alot out of a person.

I was informed yesterday that I was featured in Linda Peterson's blog (myself and my guild - Mile High Polymer Clay Guild) so I will link to that and you can go and see me and many of my dragons.........exciting!!!

Take Care!! This was one of my very first clay creations, he brings a funny smile to my face everytime I look at him :) I actually think I did really good for my first try - toot toot!!

Coope of the Earth Clan

Coope is a experimental little fella......

WHY??

I started out in my normal fashion of making my dragons (which you can purchase the PDF's on How to make your own on ETSY and Artfire - my plug :) OK back to Coope......I purchase this fuzzy stuff called Fleck sometime back and really didn't know what I was going to do with it, so I mixed quite a bit into the clay, with the idea (in my head) that a kinda fuzzy dragon would be born. Well the fleck seemed to just disappeared into the clay, so I figured I would rub some on this little dragons back and try to make it stick to his "skin" to make a fuzzy dragon - nope! All this did was make it so NO other clay would stick to he, in turn little Coope here has NO scales (Sorry). I baked him as is and then decided this might be a good time to try out this new metal paint I got from http://www.polyclayplay.com/ and decorate him with that and this is what turned out..... He has found some kind of seed pod to hold! I am still not sure what I am going to do with the fleck, but this turned out to be a lesson in what not to do :)

A little Dragon Family :)

Coope has not been officially listed yet, but I think I will put him on Artfire!
THANKS for reading and feed back is ALWAYS welcome!!

Some MORE Mud Heads.....

I still am not sure what I am going to do with these fun little heads, but I am having so much fun playing with making them (and that is what matters, right??)
So here are my new ones....... He was made of black clay and then used the metallic alcohol ink and it made this wonderful metal look to him. This ink acts different than the others, it seems to be thicker and the metallic sits in the ink and swirls around (doesn't dry as fast) so being that I am impatient I hit it with the heat gun and that seemed to work just fine. I like him, but anything metallic and I like it :) He was warm (about 15 min. out of the oven) when I put the ink on.

Next is one that I made with translucent premo clay and then piping hot from the oven hit with reds and orange ink and let me warn you about this one...THE INK SPLATTERS OFF...almost as if it is boiling instantly and hit my leg, pants and don't tell my hubby but the floor (Shhhh)! But what turned out was really neat..... This little one looks just like glass/plastic. I took another photo up to my window, I hope one of them will show you what he really looks like..... I think that one does a good job!! He would be really cool to try to make him into a window hanging. I am going to play around more with this technique but next time I will use more protection :) I might try to paint his face so that it pops more, but wow I like what happened!!

So until next time...THANKS for reading!!!

Mud Head Tribe

Well here goes...the experimentation of clay and alcohol ink

You already saw my first attempt and I like him but this next little guy was totally covered in a dark color (terracotta) and was left for days, when I went to see what had turned out, I didn't like how dark he was so I took the bottle of alcohol and splashed his whole face and rubbed a little and this is what came out...... He looks sad and very "Eeyore like".

This one I am not sure what I was thinking when I made his face...but anyways...he is a mix of yellows and orange colors and then we I felt that the alcohol ink was right I airbrushed him with a orange/red color and what came out was this..... He looks sunburned, but then again he kinda looks like the sun :)
I also finished working on some that I did when the clay (white, black and translucent) was hot and that produced some really interesting effect and I will talked about them next time for I still have get them their photo shot......
One problem I now face, and any comments are welcome, what do I do with them???? I was thinking a brooch or magnet but I am not sure if that would sell :)
THANKS for reading!!

The Seven Clans

Forrest Clan
They are known to be laid back but territorial of their Forrest. They have developed a game like tag, which they enjoy playing alot. When not playing they will sit in the trees and just watch everything else that is going on around them.

Water Clan
They are known to be playful and very intelligent although they like to pull pranks on the other clans. The Water Clan loves to play with all of the other clans although the Fire Clan does not like them much. Ironically most of the Water Clan can't swim very well.

Earth Clan
They are known to be a wise, kind and caring clan. Earth Dragons will do anything to help any other creature. They are one of the oldest clans and have the name "The Healers".

Fire Clan
They are known as the "Bad Boys" of the clans. Fire Clan likes to push the limits and does not like to take advice from any other dragons. They are known trouble makers.

Sky Clan
They are known to have a in-charge personality and have been labeled as snobbish. They like to float around with an "I don't care" attitude. They do seem to be a kind clan when needed, although they tend to only hang out with other Sky Clan.

Celestial Clan
They are a very majestic clan and they are the oldest clan known. They are said to have mystical powers. The Celestial Clan are mentors to all other clans but they have trouble with the Fire Clan.

Gems Clan
Not much is known about them for they are a mysterious and shy clan. They will hide from any who come near, although they seem to be very friendly. There is a myth that anyone that comes upon one will be granted the "Luck of the Dragon"

Elemental Buddies

Elemental Buddies are little creatures that live within the Forrest with the Dragons. Sometimes they are what we would consider as normal animals (such as turtle, lizards, birds, etc.) and sometimes they are exotic and unusual creatures. They all have their own story and they are all still Elemental!!

**What ELSE lives in the forrest???

**PEBBLEONIANs...They are the "listeners" of the Elemental Forrest. Only the best of the best little pebbles are choosen to grow into a Pebbleonian. They live along the mountain range on the edge of the Forrest, and it is said that when any Elemental Forrest critters needs a friend just to listen to them, they would travel to the Pebbleonians. They are old (in human terms) and very wise, but they don't have much to say, they just listen.

**CHERPELLs...A small bird like critter with a very long feather tail (at least it is long for their body size). They have a small golden pad like foot that they can hop with.

**TROLLGONs...Trollish dragonish like critters that enjoy just curling around a tree (although they do OK in the cages also) and just watching what you are doing.

**SNETTLEs...Very small snail like creatures, who make very good pets (for children and adults - great at work). They are easy to care for a little food, water and love and they are good to go. They very much just want a home.

**BOOBALINGs...Small crab like critters that enjoy crawling around, they do need to be caged or you may never see them again. Very curious little ones.

**TRUPHELLs....These exotic little creatures boing about the forrest floor following their snout in search of delicious morsels. They don't seem to be the smartest or most graceful of critters, but they are very amusing to sit around and watch.

**TWEERBs....These happy little turtle like creatures are slow moving, kinda clumsy critters. Who like to hang out in groups for they are very social.Tweerbs make great friends with any other Elemental Buddies.

**MUD HEADs... is the original dwellers of the forrest. They were stumbled upon not to long ago, so not much is known about the tribe. Information will be giving as it is discovered.
